Westjet Airlines adds a second nonstop flight to PHX from Calgary (YYC) this month. The early evening flight is scheduled to operate four times a week, using a combination of 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft types. Westjet uses Boeing 737's to several destinations from PHX seasonally, and uses gates at Terminal 4 at Sky Harbor.

Republic Airways will add a second nonstop flight from PHX to Denver (DEN) this month. The airlines flights to DEN use the Embraer 170, and operate as Frontier Jet Express. The early morning flight operates only certain days of the week while the late afternoon flight is daily. Republic uses gates at Terminal 3 at PHX.
Southwest Airlines begins nonstop flights to San Francisco (SFO) from PHX this month. The airline joins Ted and US Airways on this route, and had previously served this destination from PHX. Southwest has numerous flights from PHX to many destinations, using gates at Terminal 4.
Continental Airlines returns the Boeing 757-300 and 757-200 to PHX on some flights from Newark (EWR). The 757's will arrive and depart during the night. The airline has used these aircraft types on several occasions previously at PHX. Continental uses gates at Terminal 2 to several destinations from PHX.
Alaska Airlines will discontinue using the MD-80 on its scheduled flights from PHX this month. The airline will use 737's on its flights to Seattle (SEA) and Portland (PDX), and uses gates at Terminal 2 at PHX.
Vision Airlines has discontinued
service to IWA. The airline had three flights weekly to North Las Vegas (VGT)
using the Dornier 328. This was the only service between these two cities. At
this time, no date for reinstated service has been given. Please contact Vision

Phoenix-Mesa
Gateway Airport (IWA) continues to see numerous construction projects in
and around the airfield. Fourteen destinations are currently served nonstop
from this Phoenix area airport. For construction update information at IWA, refer to the information page

The
free parking area north of the airport along Airlane Road used by many to watch
operations at PHX has been fenced recently. Currently, during the daylight
hours a gate to this parking area has been left unlocked allowing parking for
aircraft observation. It is unclear at this time if this will become a permanent
situation. Construction continues on numerous other
projects in and around the airport. Many
of these projects may affect spotting / photographing and driving in and around
