ATA Airlines ends all operations this month. The airline had operated flights from PHX to Maui (OGG) and Honolulu (HNL), using 757 aircraft. The airline ceased operations abruptly, leaving four aircraft stranded at PHX temporarily (N514AT / N517AT / N518AT / N519AT).

Republic Airlines (RPA) is scheduled to end service to PHX from Denver (DEN) this month. The airline operated for Frontier offering daily nonstop flights. The airline used the Embraer 170 on this service, and a gate at Terminal Three. This was the only service for the airline and aircraft type at PHX. Frontier will use its own aircraft on this route after RPA service ends.

Air Canada will discontinue seasonal E190 service at PHX to Calgary (YYC) this month. The airline had one daily nonstop between these cities. Air Canada uses gates at Terminal Two at Sky Harbor. US Airways and Westjet continue to serve YYC from PHX.

AeroMexico and AeroMexico Connect (SLI) will share the service between PHX and Hermosillo (HMO) this month. Recently, this route was served exclusively for AeroMexico by SLI's E145's. AeroMexico will use the 737-700 on its flights, and both airlines use gates at Terminal Four at PHX.

Great Lakes is scheduled to drop nonstop service to Gallup (GUP) from PHX this month. The airline had daily nonstop flights to GUP, using the Beech 1900D. This was the only service between these cities. Great Lakes serves two other destinations, and gates at Terminal Two at PHX.

Midwest will discontinue use of the 717 at PHX this month. The airline had used the type on selected flights between PHX and Milwaukee (MKE) nonstop. Midwest will continue to use the MD-80 on this route, and uses gates at Terminal Three at PHX. This was the only 717 service at PHX.

Other airlines will also discontinue service to some destinations and the use of certain aircraft types at PHX during this month as their schedules change. American is scheduled to discontinue 757 service at PHX, and Northwest will drop the 757-300 as well. Skywest (United Express) will drop the CRJ-700 from the LAX schedule and instead use the CRJ-200. US Airways will drop seasonal service to Manzanillo (ZLO) and Mesa (US Airways Express) will discontinue seasonal service to both Aspen (ASE) and Telluride (TEX).

Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (IWA) continues to see numerous construction projects in and around the airfield. Thirteen destinations are currently served nonstop from this Phoenix area airport.
