ASA begins MEM nonstop

Atlantic Southeast (ASA) begins nonstop service between PHX and Memphis (MEM) this month. The airline will use the CRJ-900 once daily on this route operating as Delta Connection. This is currently the only ASA flight operating from PHX. Mesaba (Delta Connection) and Mesa (U S Airways Express) also operate nonstop flights on this route. ASA uses a gate at Terminal 3 while at PHX.

Southwest begins nonstop service to Newark (EWR) this month. The airline will use the Boeing 737-700 on this route. Continental (United) and U S Airways also operate nonstop flights between these cities. Southwest operates many daily flights to numerous destinations from gates at Terminal 4 while at PHX.
Sun Country discontinues all flights to PHX this month. The airline had nonstop flights to Minneapolis (MSP) from PHX using the Boeing 737-800 or 737-700 from a gate at Terminal 3. Sun Country is expected to resume PHX service this fall.

(IWA) continues to see numerous construction projects
in and around the airfield. For

Construction associated with the
airports new
automated train continues around the eastern area of the airport.
Road closures and delays can be expected because of this construction.
The PHX Sky
Train as it will be known is scheduled to begin running
between the Phoenix Metro Light Rail at 44th Street and Washington and
the East Economy parking lot and Terminal 4 in a couple of years. It is
scheduled to
continue on to the Rental Car Center west of the airport by the year

Construction continues on
numerous other projects in and around Sky Harbor airport. Many of these
projects may
affect spotting / photographing and driving in and around the airport.
